So, let’s talk about Wicked Weed Brewing for a minute.
First, a little history:
Wicked Weed Brewing was founded in December of 2012 and is based in Asheville, NC. Their original brewpub typically has about 25 beers on tap. Wicked Weed is known for specializing in west coast style hoppy ales, open fermented Belgian beers, and barrel aged sour beers and they have won several medals across all of their styles. The company built a fourth facility last year that is entirely devoted to farmhouse, wild-fermented, and sour beers and have the first taproom on the East Coast dedicated to sours. All told, Wicked Weed produces over 150 different beers a year, has (or maybe had) a huge fanbase, and is arguably the top of the food chain in the craft beer kingdom of Asheville. You can imagine then, there was some backlash to this headline:

The Guerillas are back at it and we got some company. DSquared and I brought our better halves with us (wifeys) on our beer journey up north to our beloved breweries. Rouge Ales is releasing a new member of their “Voodoo Doughnut” series of beers; This time it’s Voodoo Doughnut Grape Guerrilla. We’re kind of partial to the name ourselves. If you spend any time on this page you are going to start hearing the name Magnify Brewing more and more. They are local to the Guerrilla Compound here in NJ and they are definitely a name to look out for. Bias aside, I truly think these guys are on to something, and they feel like they’re on the verge of blowing up….the good kind not the bad kind. One of the “big daddies” in the craft beer game is getting on board the canning train (canning line technically I guess). For our friends across the sea, big news out of Hungary as the Daily News Hungary reports HopTop Brewery won a bronze medal at the European Beer Star 2016 competiton for their Dry Stout. This marks the first time a Hungarian based brewery has won at the competition.
